The Hillsdale High School Educational Community assumes responsibility for preparing all of its
graduates to meet state standards, SMUHSD graduation requirements,
UC/CSU admissions requirements, and the following ESLRs:
EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATORS
WHO EXHIBIT SIGNIFICANT MESSAGES ACROSS THE CURRICULUM:
  • articulate ideas and convey messages to others in a clear, creative, and effective manner.
  • write logically structured and coherent documents that demonstrate a sense of appropriateness to audience, purpose and context.
  • speak with poise, a command of language, a clear organization of ideas, and a sense of appropriateness to audience, purpose, and context.
  • express themselves through a world language and the languages unique to the arts.
CRITICAL THINKERS
WHO ANALYZE INFORMATION AND SUGGEST SOLUTIONS TO PROBLEMS ACROSS THE CURRICULUM:
  • read and listen in order to acquire, evaluate, analyze and synthesize information from a variety of media.
  • engage in the recursive process of asking critical questions, generating hypotheses, viewing problems from multiple perspectives, and pursuing answers through research, experimentation and/or computation.
