Notice to: Hillsdale High School Clubs, Boosters and Administration

From: PTSO/AKOTT Ways and Means Committee

The donations to AKOTT from the initial fundraiser are $10,789, this includes the remaining balance from last year. These funds will be distributed as in prior years (1/5 to each of the five groups.)

Going forward…

After numerous meetings we have decided to move forward with “A Knight on the Town” as an event this year. However, we are making some major changes that will affect the five groups that have benefited from past AKOTT fundraisers.

There are many reasons for the change this year, the main one being that we do not want to raise money just for the sake of raising money. We want to be able to tell the parent community what these funds will be used for and show that the funds will help their students now, this year.

Who can raise funds from AKOTT:
The fundraiser will be open to up to all groups at HHS (i.e. newspaper, boosters, dance, robotics, administration etc…) The amount each group can raise will be determined by need, participation and the success of the fundraiser.

What does it all mean?

To earn funds from AKOTT this year your group must do the following:

  • Assign a representative from your group to help plan the event
  • Let us know how much money you would like to raise and what it is for
  • Encourage your parent community to come and support the event
  • Let us know what student entertainment your group can provide (like performances from athletics, music and booster, maybe the winners of the talent show perform… things like that)
  • Send at least one basket for the auction and encourage your parent community to donate things like a mystery dinner, a martini party etc…
  • Parent volunteers for the event

Funds split from AKOTT:
After the event we will have a final meeting that includes each group representative to disburse funds based on the amount raised, participation and goals of event.

The event is in the planning stages and we have a lot of work ahead. We are looking at a dinner auction on Jan 12 at the Elks club.

Please join us at our first meeting on Tuesday 10/2 at HHS room 210 @ 6:30 PM
