Principals’ Report – Jeff Gilbert, Lead Principal
Hillsdale High has had a number of nice events the past few weeks. The District’s College Fair held at HHS went well, with lots of students in attendance. HHS presented its fall musical – Guys and Dolls and there was a good number in attendance at the HHS vs. SMHS football game. GRID (Homecoming) on is Sat. with the football game starting at 11 am followed by the dance at CSM that evening. 12-week grades are due this week, another 6 weeks have gone by. Grades will be coming home this week. HHS has upcoming community presentations Nov. 28th & 29th in Foster City. We also had some very good early shadowing days in Oct. for private schools. Sabrina Bracini did a great job organizing these. Not only did the students spend the day with current HHS students, but they had meetings with student leaders and the administration also. The feedback from the shadowing days was that it was great experience. The Foundation has enough money to redesign HHS’s webpages. We are looking at Serra’s website as model. The redesign is in process at this point. Also, there is some money to spend to do a short video – mainly for the community, with some student focus. HHS will have air conditioning go in this summer. Dr. Miller is also moving to do the field and the track sooner. Jeff met with Dr. Miller about HHS resources and the SLC’s and there will be no need to cut staff this year. His intention is to support the program and look over the 5-yr. plan. HHS staff is currently setting up meetings to create the SLC structure for the upper division.
Fundraising Report – Teresa Gebler, Vice President – Ways & Means
The Nov. 15th next working meeting for AKOTT has been cancelled and will be rescheduled. Dance, Robotics, The Scroll, PTSO, Athletics, Drama, and Music have all agreed to host the AKOTT fundraiser, which will now be March 1 at the Elks. There will be dancing and an auction and possibly student entertainment. Looking to contact a parent auctioneer.
Treasurer’s Report – Toni Johnson, Treasurer

President’s Report – Lois Darbonne, President

Programs Report – Nancy Venecia, VP Programs
Tonight, the Program is about Senior Ex curriculum. One current and one recently graduated Senior will come and discuss their research paper and oral presentation. This program is unique to Hillsdale. The curriculum includes a research booklet/binder to guide students. The planned PTSO Program in February will include a Police officer speaker to discuss drugs, safety, and use of the internet on campus. There was a suggestion of a program idea to show people what is available on HHS’s general website and through HHS’s library.
