Meeting of November 8, 2004

Call to Order/Pledge of Allegiance:  The meeting of the General Membership was called to order at 7:35PM. Liz Wiegand, President, led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Approval of Minutes: October minutes approved pending revision of the number $275 to $200 in the Treasurer’s Report section.

Treasurer’s Report:  Submitted by Louis Darbonne, approved by all.

President’s Report:  Liz shared recap from her attendance at the SMUHSD meeiting.

With status update on SMUHSD various High School building.  Hillsdale High School has over 400 skylights. 

Principal’s Report:  Don Leydig led a tour of the newly completed classrooms and Administrative offices, ending in the library.  

Mr. Leydig advised of the soon to be sent home letter from SMUHSD regarding Hillsdale High School test scores on SAT 9-CAT 6.  Hillsdale received less than proficient in 2 of the 20 categories that the State mandates testing in this rating is based on number of participants as opposed to graded results.   Year round schedule for SMUHSD continues to be widely discussed and encouraged by many.  The SCHOOL LOOP website is up and running for Hillsdale High School and being used successfully.  There will be a meeting November 17, to discuss Small Learning Community and the class of 2006.

Student Representative Report:  Student Council President Brittany Wrightson provided details on Spirit Week activities.

Athletic Booster Report: February 5 is the date for The Ultimate Tailgate Party, the annual dinner and dance fundraiser.  Cost is $100 per couple and includes beverage, food, music and football square.

AKOTT Report:  Date remains 3/19/2005, at Twin Pines Park in Belmont, with Tuscany theme.  Donation items are actively being recruited.

Dance Booster Report:  Plans are in the making for the annual May performance, Knight Moves, which is a growing success.

Drama Booster Report: Fall play Pajama Game had a successful two weekend run.  Harvey is the chosen play for spring.  One act plays will be featured in January and a talent show scheduled for December 10.

Membership Report: PTSO members in good standing comprised of the following: 175 families, 99 individuals, 22 teachers and 2 dogs!

Music Booster Report:   Jazz Band is scheduled to perform December 7.   Fundraising efforts via ENTERTAINMENT books continue and are still available for purchase.
