Here's a list of all clubs available at Hillsdale.

Each club is unique in its activities and the students who participate in them.

ASIAN CLUB
The Asian Club is a student led organization open to students of all backgrounds. The Asian Club organizes activities to celebrate Asian culture and to educate the Hillsdale community about issues and customs important to Asian people. The club has been a regular and spirited participant in the Annual Foster City Dragon Boat Festival. The Asian Club plans activities on campus for Chinese New Year and other holidays. It fundraises for various charities each year. The club holds many social events, ranging from progressive dinners to bowling nights.

AVID CLUB
The members of this club help AVID students become more active in and out of school, hold fundraisers for field trips, and help plan AVID family activities. Members are from the AVID community.

BEST BUDDIES CLUB
Best Buddies is a friendship club dedicated to enhancing the lives of people with mental retardation by providing opportunities for one on one friendships. Chapters organize club activities, group activities and one on one activities. Peer training is essential and mandatory.

BLACK STUDENTS UNION (BSU)
The Black Students Union is an organization open to all students. The Union members through their combined efforts work toward bringing better understanding of the Black culture to the school community. Throughout the year, activities, field trips and cultural events are planned.

CALIFORNIA SCHOLARSHIP FEDERATION (CSF)
The California Scholarship Federation is an organization which recognizes outstanding academic achievement. Membership is base on cumulative semester grade point values for A’s and B’s earned. The requirement for semester membership is 10 CSF points. Four semesters of membership, including at least one semester of the senior year are required for CSF Life Membership. Fund raising, field trips and other activities are planned throughout the year.

CHESS CLUB
The Chess Club provides an opportunity for students to play and compete in chess matches.

CHRISTIAN CLUB
The Christian Club provides an open and free environment on campus where Christians and non-Christians alike can gather and discuss Christianity, the Bible, and life as a Christian.

CREATIVE WRITING CLUB
This club is for students who enjoy creative writing and collecting poetry. At meetings, the students share and listen to each other’s work.

DANCE ENSEMBLE
Hillsdale High School's Dance Ensemble is a performing group and preparatory program that offers an exceptional artistic and educational experience for the young dancer. The Hillsdale High School Dance Ensemble offers a diverse learning and performance experience for students in 9th to 12th grade. Through performance and dance education, the Hillsdale High School Dance Ensemble program puts together an annual dance performance, Knight Moves, which showcases the students in a variety of dance styles and levels. Students participate by audition only and a dance ensemble membership lasts one school year. Click here to view photos.

DANCE TEAM
Members of the Dance Team learn many different dances, participate in a variety of activities and support the athletic program with regular attendance and performance at games and special events.

DRAMA CLUB
The club exists to promote the theatre arts at Hillsdale and to involve students in the drama department.

ENVIRONMENTAL CLUB
The Environmental Club recycles on campus weekly and explores the environment of San Mateo County through hiking, biking, and kayaking trips.

FILIPINO CLUB
This club is organized to promote the language, culture, and customs of the Philippines.

FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE
FNL helps students gain the knowledge, skills and behaviors necessary to meet our diverse and changing world. Activities promote leadership, school and community awareness, cultural sharing, and provide opportunities to participate in alcohol, tobacco and drug-free activities.

GAY-STRAIGHT ALLIANCE
Students come together to celebrate diversity in a safe fun atmosphere for everyone. The goal is to encourage tolerance and make a difference on the campus.

H.I.T. (HILLSDALE IMPROVISATIONAL THEATRE) SQUAD
The HIT Squad performs bi-weekly at lunch for our students and frequently for outside groups and organizations.  They also host an annual fall benefit show performing with top San Francisco improv actors, and put on their own show every Spring. This drama troupe finds that the fast pace and openness of improvisation requires quick thinking, concentration, and cooperation are essential to success.

HILLSDALE LEO CLUB
The Hillsdale Leo Club is a community-based club sponsored by the Foster City Lions Club. The club’s objective is to contribute back to the community. The club has worked with the Lions Club on many fundraisers and activities. They have made donations to the Cancer Society, Katrina Relief Fund, Samaritan House and the Canine Companions for Independence. They have adopted a family each Christmas and purchased Toys for Tots, a playhouse for the Child Growth & Development class and made a donation to the Hillsdale Library.

HOMEWORK CLUB
Students are invited to stay after school for a quiet place to study, receive help or ask questions.

INTERACT CLUB
Sponsored by Rotary International, this club meets to build a spirit of cooperation and understanding between students and the wider community.

INTERNATIONAL CLUB
This club is designed to bring all students, especially those new to the U.S., together for both social and information sharing. Under the direction of our English Language Development department, this club offers the opportunity to learn about people and cultures from other countries.

LATIN AMERICAN CLUB
The Latin American Club is organized to promote interest in Spanish, the Spanish-speaking countries, the people of these lands and their culture. Activities throughout the year include dinners, movies, slides, speakers and music.

LITERARY MAGAZINE
The Hillsdale literary magazine is an organization that creates a literary magazine showcasing students’ work.

MATH TEAM
Students who have a special interest in math may join the Math team. Members have a chance to compete against students from other schools each month.

MOCK TRIAL TEAM
Hillsdale’s Mock Trial Team competes against other San Mateo County and California teams presenting a mock criminal case. Students participate as pretrial attorneys, trial attorneys, witnesses, bailiff and clerk. Students are coached and evaluated by professional attorneys. Mock Trial is a challenging and fun activity for students. Hillsdale’s successful team has finished among the top ten in California every year.

QUIZ KIDS
The members of this club test their knowledge of trivia. The highest ranked trivia experts compete on television against teams from other county high schools.

ROBOTICS CLUB
This club provides and opportunity for students to compete in challenging engineering competitions. They work as a team to develop, build and maintain a robot.

SCIENCE CLUB
This club gives students interested in science an opportunity to explore this field through field trips, projects and other activities.

ULTIMATE FRISBEE CLUB
The Ultimate Frisbee Club promotes the values of outdoor adventure and wacky fun by throwing and chasing a rubber disk. We play Ultimate Frisbee from 3:00 to 4:00 every Friday.

VOICES AGAINST VIOLENCE
Students work together to encourage the use of words as opposed to violence to solve conflicts. Students attend an annual county-wide Voices Against Violence Conference.
