We've decided that we'll do the two-team format in terms of how we're going to manage ourselves. You'll find that the member list now includes a column for their team assignment!

I realize that I screwed up the meeting scheduling. When I said Sunday the 24th, I meant Sunday the 25th. I apologize for any confusion!!! I'm currently in the process of emailing and calling everybody. Sorry again!

I have freaking incredible news. The PTSO has decided to give us $700 for our registration! We're getting very close (which is good, because the registration money is due by the week before the 27th of February, though we really should get it in early)
So, Mr. Maskel has decided to call a meeting on this coming Tuesday at lunch in his room. I expect everybody to be there. This coming Tuesday, for people who are too lazy to look at their calendars, is 01/20/04.
Woo hoo!

Happy Birthday, Sasha! This news post is entirely for you!

I don't have anything to say, except to wish you a very happy birthday, this year and all the days until your next birthday when you'll be wished "happy birthday" again. Don't eat too much cake. Apparently there are carcinogens in the icing!
Enjoy your day.

Happy New Year!!!!

I hope everyone had robotics on their new year's resolution list! No? Well, me neither!
We're poised and ready to get even more
poised and ready for the upcoming Uber Botball Challenge! (We didn't end up actually doing the sumo challenge, but we'll now just do that if we have the time.)
I'm having issues with the laptop (the serial port is messed up!) and I'm going to try and see if I can get the school to fix it, as well as thinking up a way to prove that it wasn't us that messed it up! (It seriously wasn't, as far as I know!)

Until the next meeting, (whose proposal is already out), enjoy your fresh start and the rest of your break.

Our meeting today went pretty well. My issue with it was that we didn't get the sumo challenge done, and not very many people came. I was a bit frustrated by how few people knew the meeting was going to be today, seeing that I sent out an email nearly a week ago, with the location and everything (which says a lot, at least in the manner we've been going!). No big deal. I expect everyone will be at the next meeting!

Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Nora.... HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!
Enjoy your day, and let's hope you enjoy the ones to come also!

Unfortunately, not all our news is good news. I recently sent this email, stating how pissed I was about how our meeting scheduling has been going. Not well, to say the least. Not one person heeded to the last news post, which was posted three days ago this afternoon. So, I scheduled the meeting myself, and am going to henceforth. If enough people are upset by the Nazi date, then it will be rescheduled. That's all I have to say about that. (I apologize for all the birthdays that haven't been posted online, but today was the only time when I happened to post on someones birthday, far as I can tell! I'll be sure to do it for everyone else coming up as well.

Sorry I missed you guys at lunch today, I had left before lunch, so I wasn't able to make it. Sorry about that! Instead, we can conduct the business that would have happened during the meeting over email. Please send me an email telling me when you will be available on the 20th and 23rd, respectively. (It's looking like the 23rd as of now.) Format it like this:

Dec. 20: 3:00p - 5:00p (Might need to leave at 4:00p)
Dec. 23: Not available

This doesn't necessarily reflect anybody's views at all, but that's the general idea for the format. If you write more stuff than that in the email, please make sure that the "formal" formatted thing I just described is bolded. And, if anyone can offer their house, that would be a good place to put that too.
Thanks, and sorry again!

Even though we didn't finish the races or have all the pieces, I felt that the meeting was pretty successful. Most of us finished our sumo robots, and Matt even built this weird ratcheting thingy that we should all check out if we haven't seen it. Our next meeting will be on either December 20th or 23rd, and the time has yet to be decided (it depends on the day, of course!)
In case you're lazy, here's another link to the challenge list.

Unfortunately, UC Applications had to make me an hour and a half late, so you guys did a lot of waiting around. Sorry about that. However, you were able to agree on the list of challenges that we're going to be doing this year! Yay! The list can be found right here.
Our next meeting will be scheduled on Thursday for the week after. i.e., no meeting this weekend. (You guys can party)
Yay!

Meeting place posted: we're going to Steve's house this week! We're going to finish up-z0r the programming stuff (perhaps quickly review) and we're going to finalize the challenges we're doing this year. Finally! We should know (and I'll post them) right after the meeting ends. Score!

The meeting today went pretty well for the people who were into the progamming, but probably sucked for the ones who weren't! Well, it was technically a programming meeting, so that's not too bad. At least the builders got to play around with LEGO some more! Yay!
Check out the resources section- it's hecka updated and is full of a lot of interesting stuff, including Interactive C and the Member List. (Finally!)
Remember: there's another meeting next week. (Right now, it's going to be at either Karl or Kevan's place, looks like.) We're going to wrap up what we didn't finish today, and finalize the upcoming challenges. (I'll post an official list of those after next week's meeting.)

As you must know, the email sent incorrectly said the meetings are on Saturdays the 23rd and 30th. The dates weren't incorrect, the days were. It truly is Sunday. Sorry for any confusion.
Also, Sasha: for some reason your email's hating on me recently: it gave me an error saying that I'm spam, and it's blocking me. That's all fine and dandy, but I think you need to be able to see the mails! :) Please talk to me ASAP.
